敷地が工業地域にあるこの地に計画した久々知のアトリエは、夏の湿度の高い気候を考慮して、２階に設計スペースと中２階に接客スペース、１階にピロティーを設け、その一部は貸しスペースとしてドッグランのカフェテラス、陶芸作業場・薪置場等で使用する。
街路から建物まで木々の中を緩いスロープで建物の中２階のエントランスへとアプローチする。この植栽スペースは気持ち良い環境を街ゆく人達と共有し、既存の桜を中心に時間を掛けて育てるように考えている。

通路も舗装せず、土のままの仕上げとし、雨水を浸透させている。

エントランスは外部で軒が深く、２階の設計スペースの前室は夏には縁側的用途として開け放すことができ、冬には暖をとるための薪ストーブの室としている。

建具の入替によって季節による室の使い分けを可能としている。各スペースへの半外部での繋がりは、より季節感を肌で感じる。また２階床レベルで跳ね出したデッキは外壁のメンテナンスに役立ち、加えて建物の水平の広がりを感じさせている。

これらのディテールの積み重ねが木構造の美しさと力強さを表現している。

Located in an industrial area, Kukuchi's atelier was designed with the high humidity of summer in mind. The second floor houses the design space, the mezzanine the reception area, and the first floor features a piloti (open ground floor) with a portion available for rent as a dog run/cafe terrace, pottery workshop, and firewood storage.

A gentle slope through the trees leads from the street to the mezzanine entrance. This planted area aims to share a pleasant environment with passersby, with the plan to cultivate existing cherry trees over time. The pathway is left unpaved, with a natural soil finish to allow rainwater to permeate.

The entrance is outdoors with a deep eaves, and the anteroom to the second-floor design space can be opened up in the summer for a veranda-like function, and in the winter, it serves as a room with a wood-burning stove for warmth.

The ability to change the fixtures allows for seasonal room usage. The semi-outdoor connections to each space enhance the sense of the seasons. Furthermore, the deck that cantilevers out at the second-floor level serves as a means of maintaining the exterior walls and also gives a sense of horizontal spaciousness to the building.

The accumulation of these details expresses the beauty and strength of the wooden structure.
